Breakfast Club

 We’re really pleased to be able to offer Breakfast Club here at Ashmead, run by our own school staff and open to all children from Reception to Year 6.

Breakfast Club takes place in our two school halls and can be accessed via the gate near the staff car park. For everyone’s safety, the Nursery gate and pathway should be used to enter the Breakfast Club.

To support different family needs, we offer two arrival times:

 From 7:45am – Paid Option:
This is ideal for working parents. The cost is £3.00 per session, and children can attend daily or just on selected days. We accept Childcare Vouchers, Tax-Free Childcare, and Childcare Grant payments. Booking forms for this club go out via ParentMail every Monday, and bookings must be made by midday Wednesday for the following week. Payment is due by midday Friday. Please note, we’re unable to accept last-minute bookings to ensure we have the right staffing and food prepared.

 From 8:15am – Free Option:
This is a free session offering a gentle, calm start to the day.
Please note that children arriving after 8:30am won’t be able to join this Breakfast Club and will need to enter through the main playground gate.

 Breakfast and Supervision

Children are offered a choice of toast or cereals, with water or squash to drink.
Our friendly school staff, familiar to the children, are on hand to support them and help ensure a positive start to the day. By 8:45am, they’ll be taken directly to their classrooms, ready to begin learning.

 Expectations and Atmosphere

We aim to keep Breakfast Club a calm and positive space where children can enjoy a healthy meal and ease into the day. To help maintain this environment, we ask that children follow our School Promises, such as sitting calmly and being respectful to others. If a child regularly struggles to meet these expectations, we may need to review their place in the club.

 After School Club

We’re delighted to offer wraparound care through our After-School Club, open to all children from Reception to Year 6.

The club runs from the end of the school day until 5:45pm, and children can attend every day or just on selected days that suit your family’s needs.

Each session is run by our experienced Ashmead staff, who provide a welcoming, safe, and fun environment. Children are offered a healthy snack on arrival and enjoy a hot meal at 4:45pm.

The cost of each session is £12.00, which covers 2.5 hours of childcare, a meal, and all activities. We accept payments via Childcare Vouchers, the Tax-Free Childcare system, and the Childcare Grant. Your child is welcome to leave before 5:45pm if needed—just note that the session cost remains the same.

 How to Book

Booking forms are sent out every Monday via ParentMail, and bookings must be completed by midday on Wednesday for the following week. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate last-minute bookings, as we need to make sure staffing levels and resources are planned in advance.
